The Yemeni Community Association in Sandwell is hosting a West Midlands Yemeni Charity Dinner as part of Islamic Relief’s Yemen Crisis Appeal. The dinner will be held at the Sapphire Suite in Birmingham on the 18th December at 7.00pm (till late).
As well as raising much needed funds for Islamic Relief’s Yemen Crisis Appeal, the evening will also give guests the opportunity to hear Tawakul Karman, recent Nobel Peace Laureate winner, speak.
The situation in Yemen has worsened recently after months of political unrest and the situation has reached crisis point, according to the UN, with thousands of families having fled their homes to escape the on-going violence. In response, Islamic Relief, with support from the Yemeni Communities of the UK, has launched an emergency appeal for those caught up in the unrest – they now need your help in supporting this appeal.
